A Mothers Prayer Poem by Tammi Tomlinson

A Mothers Prayer

She can see you,
Up there in the clouds,
Pretending to be little stars,
But she knows exactly what you are,
Your her babies,
Her angels in the sky.

One of you were never born,
You were taken from her womb,
Tiny little thing you were,
She never saw your face.

Now one of you was born,
She remembers as clear as day,
Bigger than your brother was,
Then you were taken away,
To the room where they cleaned you up,
Made you look so beautiful,
Got you dressed in tiny doll clothes,
That memory only lives in her mind.

Both of you were buried,
Side by side,
Three years between you both,
Your young mummy was ready though.

Thirteen and sixteen,
Tender ages to have to go through,
Such pain and devastation,
But she was ready to love you.

Now mummy has another,
A little boy she loves so much,
She can only hope you can see him,
From your swing set in the sky.

He will know your names,
When he's old enough to learn,
But for now mummy's love should be enough,
To keep you safe from harm.

As he grows he will learn,
Of how you came to pass,
Look after him sweet angels,
That's all mummy has to ask.

An innocent poem really. Mothers are so caring. Lovely. Good stanza at the end to conclude the poem. As he grows he will learn, Of how you came to pass, Look after him sweet angels, That's all mummy has to ask.
