A Mother's Tale Poem by Gerald Opio

A Mother's Tale

A mother so forbear
Hope eventuates in her womb
Her hand caresseth belly jovially
Spurring a baby kick
On the walls of her uterus

The feel of the baby kicking
Engendering a radiant grin on her face
Ingniting an indurated bond
Vitalizing the motherly love
Formidable and unwaveringly deep-rooted

Mother's moment to relieve
Over and over again
For the waiting time as baby nurtures
Within the canopy of the womb
Ceazes to exist at the baby's first cry.

A moment that answers mother's fervent prayers
Of holding her little angel in her arms
Embracing it with the warmth of her bossom
Sating it's famished belly
With her lactating bazooms
