A Name Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

A Name

Rating: 5.0

A given name is selected with the utmost care
Knowing that the choice will label the future
Identifying a child for the rest of their days
Creating an official validation for a signature

What determines the letter arrangement flow?
Making a final decision can be extremely difficult
The naming has to be just right in order to please...
parents ponder would-be possibilities and consult

A favorite aunt or uncle title extends longevity
Association with an actor or rock and roll singer...
Perhaps a name synonymous with great success
Or or simply scan the phonebook with a finger

Finally a name will grace the birth certificate...
after hours of deduction and considerable thought
The given name will accompany a unique someone
A satisfied reflection approves the name sought
