A Pledge To You Poem by John A. Hancock

A Pledge To You

If you were to stumble and fall I would catch you
If you cried I would wipe away your tears
If I heard you call out to me in the night
I would be there to chase away your fears
If I saw you were unhappy
I would sing a happy song
For your my inspiration
You help me to go on
If you told me you felt lonely
I would hold you to prove it was not true
If you thought my love was false
I would say, for you there is nothing
I would not do
If someone told you true love was only in fairy tales
I would say how foolish they really are
For true love is what we have between us
And it is real, just like the moon and stars
