A Poet On Poet's Rescue Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

A Poet On Poet's Rescue

Love became lame,
Faith lost its fame;
All were scared,
But brave was in blame;
Doc turned patient,
Treatment to end came,
Pain played the game,
Poor drug lost its name.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This quatrain was written by the original poet following an incident. A ghazal writer, his pen-name Mareez (patient) , was made to sell all his poems for two thousand Rupees by someone called Chandrashekhar Thakur. He then arranged to publish it in his own name under a new pen-name of Tabeeb (doctor) . Shoonya Palanpuree, who was working for a publication, and who got the wind of this wrote a piece exposing this, and then called the impostor, forcing him to change his plan. Following this, Shoonya Palanpuree wrote this quatrain.

An explorer never gets old exploring and trying new things. You too are one, and hence never feel old. Let us form an mutually appreciating co-operative society. Like... like those famous twosome, a camel and donkey, the former praising the other's voice, the later, well, former's beauty. But thank you for your sincere compliment.
