A Poet Twist Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

A Poet Twist

In the midst...
Of a storm that is on,
It is hard to rid of it...
Until one experiences,
This affect that has gone.

And with a poet twist,
That storm becomes an image...
Of tears that drip,
To clear clouds from the sky.
Allowing love to maximize.
And squeezed tightly to dry,
From the warmth one feels from a hug.

One has got to...
Squeeze to feel it.
To know a hug is...
Genuinely given.
And...
One has got to,
Squeeze to feel it.
To know a hug is...
Meant for what it is!

From a storm to a poet twist.
One has got to...
Squeeze to feel it.
To know a hug is...
Genuinely given.
And...
One has got to,
Squeeze to feel it.
To know a hug is...
Meant for what it is!

And from that storm to a poet twist.
In the midst...
Of a storm that is on,
It is hard to rid of it...
Until one experiences,
An affect...
That has gone.
