A Portrait Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

A Portrait

Rating: 5.0

Beauty on canvas draws scrutinizing attention
A likeness capturing breath on a flat dimension
Eyes with peaceful joy have an inner glow
Your fixed gaze makes inquisitiveness grow

Accented with soft dimples as if parenthesized
Your gentle smile stirs a curiosity that theorizes
Luminosity radiates from an unknown source
Creating a response of communicating force

Those who view wonder about your contentedness
What is it in your world that gives expressive witness?
Is it that you are surrounded by God’s loving guidance?
If this is true, then we too can proceed with assurance
