A Prayer In Vain Poem by Jasbir Chatterjee

A Prayer In Vain

With a bent head,
And a humble soul,
I pray to thee,
Oh, God Almighty,
Please let me be,
If only for a little while more,
Stop me
From joining the dead leaves,
The relentless,
Merciless
Cycle of life and death…

God follows the time-table strictly; He is regardless of prayers in executing His will. Good poem..

A very solemn and benign prayer from a fallen flower resigned to its fate. Hope and faith make such a big difference. Thanks for the poem and the picture.
