A Precious Little Girl Poem by Connie Wine

A Precious Little Girl

A precious little girl
lying on the floor
when home I came
and opened up the door

As I fell on my knees
and did take her in my arm
she cried, why mommy
did daddy do to me this harm

He said he loved me
that I was his special little pearl
oh, mommy why did he hurt
me if I am his little girl

With one more short breath
she closed her eyes and was gone
now I am left with questions
and my spirit has withdrawn

God will take his revenge
on the man who was so evil
this man who took my child
and put our life in such upheaval

I really want to grab a gun
hunt him down without a care
but instead I will turn it over to the Lord
for he will answer my prayer

My little girl may be gone
but the devil will get his due
her father will suffer ten times over
and this I believe to be true
