You appeared on the scene
Like striking a pose on a stage
That had not changed
Though our roles had
unpredictably -
You devoutly invested in the engagement at the time
Now circumstances are similar to those who meet at a party
Offering to listen, to meet -

Tonight we watch each other
Remembering years past
Like no other time
Like a lovely children's fairy tale
A previous reincarnation of a relationship -
We drink a toast to each other, intoxicated
Pronouncing mutual blessings of
"Take good care of yourself" -

Is there time to stay?
There is only one bed
Waiting to see
To share together
Life's most brilliant moment
Everything is beautiful
To love you
An even more wonderful reason.
