A Safer Globe Poem by Namita Rani Panda

A Safer Globe

A safer globe is the dream of every girl
Where she can flower and flourish with no dismal
Where men will not be imprisoned in the dungeon of lust
Treat every women with much love and respect
Where Jyoti the divine light will keep shining bright
No one will extinguish her or mercilessly beat or bite
She can move freely without fear in daylight as well as night
No fear of being gang raped, murdered or assaulted
No one will penetrate a rusty L-shaped iron rod into her abdomen
And as a rope wruthlessly pull out her intestine
For protection she will never have to plead, scream and struggle
She will never be molested, mutilated and thrown out as a useless doll
She will continue to live as Jyoti, not Nirvaya, the fearless
Or Jagruti, the awakening or Amanat the God's gift,
While alive, not as deceased a role model she's of indomitable grit
Or Damini, the flash of lightning brilliantly bright
That can handle any kind of hurdle and boldly fight
A safer globe is the dream of every girl
Where she can flower and flourish with no dismal
She is just a bud, only two petals spread
She will never be rushed to hospital with broken arms and skull fractured
And bite marks all over her body and cheeks
As meek as lamb, incredibly week
Never to be branded by hot iron
Never to struggle and succumb
And no Falak ‘ the Miracle Baby' is to be born
A safer globe is the dream of every girl
Where she can flower and flourish with no dismal
She is just a bud, only five years old
Yet to unfurl her soft petals with a heart of gold
She loves to read and write, jump and play
With no fear of being kidnapped in a mysterious way
Never to return home in a bag as skeletal remains
But to prosper as Pari, an angel from heaven
A safer globe is the dream of every girl
Where she can flower and flourish with no dismal
She is just a bud, seen only eight seasons
She is serene and cool breeze of the mountain
Who watches over the grazing horses with immense delight
She will return home safe with her horses in the twilight
She will never be drugged inhumanly with a sedative
And kidnapped brutally with a malice motive
Neither she will be raped in a god' abode multiple times
Nor will she be strangulated or her head hit with a stone
Asifa will live fully with all her accomplished dreams
A safer globe is the dream of every girl
Where she can flower and flourish with no dismal
She is just crossed the nineteenth Spring
Her eyes full of lovely dreams
She will never be dragged with her dupatta and barbarously raped
She will be free from the fear of being strangulated
No biting of tongue, no fear of being paralysed
But to grow and be her parents' joy and pride
Can law mitigate the hapless parents' pain
And wipe away the blemish on the forehead of the nation?
No justice is sufficient to the worst sufferer, the deceased
Only a piece of bait for petty politics
No candle march and protest is suffice
Everything moves on as usual
Hue and cry subsides, all seems normal
Paris are kidnapped and killed, Asifas murdered
Nirvayas and Falaks are born after being raped and killed
Mothers can only shape a safer globe
By training their unborn sons from the womb
The only absolute mantra to respect women.
