The deck was cold and slimy
as he walked its wooden boards
To raise the sail just slightly
to keep them off the broads.
The wind did howl
and the rain did pour
As he hoisted up the sail
But the little ship was floundering
as it sailed into the main.
A light ahead was warning
of rocks upon the shore
But he was busy lifting
the sails to give them more.
Just then a cry of terror
was heard upon the wind
As the little boat foundered
and was never seen again.
Then on one dark and lonely night
as I stood upon the sand.
A ship sailed by with sails set high
held by the captains hand.
He sailed into the wind again
and topped the giant swell.
To prove his point he sailed again
but this time down to hell.
