Day
Comes
Cold, chilling
Me to the bones
Overnight grown
Older, but so much
Shorter, reflected in
A mirror, my ugly twin
Eyes bleary, dank hair
Hoarse voice croaking
Vacillating on deletion
Dreams have burst at
The seams gleams
A shooting star
Emerged from
A universe
Dig deep
Within
Mine
Me
To dig deep is to find your inner strength. When you think you have nothing left to give in any strenuous situation, you dig deep and find it, that extra push, strength, or energy. This is what my daughter shouts to her basketball players when they look fazed in a slaughter by their opponents - amazingly, these two words restore their confidence and make them recover their lead during games. It's her voice reaching deep down inside.
Vacillating on deletion - this meant that I was speculating on ending a relationship by deleting my account which connected me to a significant other, We were on contrapuntal melodies and I thought, what the heck, who needs this headache? Then, the shooting star emerged and gave me my dire wish. Sorry readers, I need to make a note of this moment so I'll remember about waiting for shooting stars.
Doris, such an inspiring poem full of love with oneself....10+++++
Yes. It's a self-criticism, Bro. Bernard. Thank you for constantly inspiring as well. :)
Yes, we all truly need self-reflection when we lose our way, Thank you for this profound interpretation.
