A small porcelain plate
Engraved with your name
No hesitation I bought it home
Because of your name
Longevity, the word
in seal cutting style, red coloured
The longer I gazed at the word
The more I loved
Not to place any food in it
I only appreciated it
A long life I prayed for you
For your longevity, for you...
A nicely worded poem about printing of the name of a noble name on a porcelain plate. Thanks. The longer I gazed at the word The more I loved.... For your longevity, for you

I knew immediately this is a homage to your father. The poem did not yet say that but I intuited. I have never seen his face but I think in some mysterious way the quiet intensity of your poem made me see his image in your mind. This is a rare poem and it's probably fragile like the porcelain plate itself. You are resolved not to use it as a plate, because it's really something else - a reminder of your father, a presence that fills the place of his absence, an emblem of the love you share. Like the plate, that love is both fragile and eter nal. I'm happy for you that you wrote this poem! !
