I wonder…
if, she'll love me still
when she discovers,
I don't have any
Marine arms or Army legs,
and that I can't,
please/ her/ no more
the Navy way.
For me,
it's a whole different war,
layin' in this hospital bed,
with all these war medals.
It's like the Air Force;
delivered explosive ordinance,
on "all" the dreams I ever had,
for my life,
the day American Politicians,
sent me to war;
in the land of Afghanistan,
where important pieces of me:
came back missing,
that made me,
a special kind of hero… to my wife.
