Plan B belongs to me
It's all I have to see me through
When all the love has come and gone
A simple plan to carry on
This thing called love
It's all a fairy tale for fools
A wilted dandelion's dream
Things are never as they seem
Those final lies echo on
Those words that mock me still
Should not have come as a surprise
Red lips to match dark eyes
Plan B is all I have
Just enough to light the way
The warmth of a solitary flame
In the end it's all the same.
I've spent allot of time reading poetry about twin flames from Marie Shine. This poem highlights the alternative or plan B, the single flame. Yes, there is a need...I think all humans crave communion with another. Its natural...but it doesn't always work out, its not anyone's fault...humans are just complex creatures. Your poem expresses the hurt, the pain, the loss that comes when a relationship falls apart, when twin flames are no more. I feel the intense loss of the speaker in this poem. I especially like the line, A wilted dandelion's dream, and then there is the last stanza, the best part of the poem, because it explains what you mean by plan B and also the concept of the solitary flame.
The difference between reality n dream..the transitoriness of love n feelings..this poem gives us a reality check. We humans often cherish illusions till our last breath. And living a life of illusion leads us nowhere. Such life is no learning experience. Your poem might shatter our cherished beliefs but it is an acceptance of reality. A wonderful work.
A poem full of suffering and a need to heal, Beautifully written

Love the last verse a wilted dandelions dream I too have learned things are never as they seem.I had an similar experience last year Edmund and wrote a poem about it it's called living ghost on PH A part me found solace in solitude it was always a safe place to come too., my books, my writing, my beloved silence nothing to hurt me inside those 4 walls. Yet after a break up even the beloved refuge can seem lonely. But it inspired many poems and for that I'm grateful. I found comfort in this solitary flame poem thank you Edmund
