When a loved one goes away from this earth
We feel a sudden void, a loss, a pain
We wonder what our life and love are worth
We long to see their face and smile again

But though they are no longer by our side
They are not gone forever from our heart
They live within the memories we hide
The precious moments that we shared apart

We can recall the laughter and the tears
The joys and sorrows that we both endured
We can relive the days, the months, the years
The bond of love that always kept us secured

So let us not despair, but rather say
Our memories are all we have today
