A Sonnet For The Holidays Poem by Walterrean Salley

A Sonnet For The Holidays

Rating: 4.0

The holidays are upon us;
Excitement's in the air.
Folks hustling and bustling;
The traditional holiday flair.

Endless decorations:
Snow, lights, Christmas trees.
Passersby in adoration;
Grateful hearts—filled with glee.

Partridge. French hen. Calling birds.
Turtle doves—a lovely pair.
Pinecone, garland, big red bows.
Carols, sounding in the air.

Yesterday, today, and always…
There's nothing like the holidays.
