A Spiritual Existence Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

A Spiritual Existence

Rating: 5.0

What is a spiritual existence if we don't care,
And have no occasion to challenge and share?
No occasion to stand beneath a shade tree,
And hear the sound of songbirds sweet and free.
No occasion to appreciate a meadow as we pass,
Where a herd of deer are grazing on lush grass.
No occasion to see bees on flowers in sunlight,
Or a sky full of stars shining brightly at night.
No occasion to see Nature's beauty at a glance,
Or watch the evening shadows engage in a dance.
No occasion to bestow charity if we can,
When people in dire need require a helping hand.
No occasion to speak or worship as we please,
A sense of frustration and insecurity will increase.
A spiritual existence faces extinction or despair,
And has no occasion to argue and render it unfair.
