A Step Back Poem by Marilyn Lott

A Step Back

Rating: 5.0

Oh how I love to step back
Way back when I was young
Back to where I was born
Where everything had begun

I enjoy pictures of my family
That were taken so many years ago
Why, it just doesn’t seem possible
Everything has changed so

Little kids so young and sweet
With smiles on their faces of joy
Ah yes, I love to see
Photos of them with their toys

My grandparents as I remember
It makes me feel kind of sad
My eye goes to another photo
Of my special mom and dad

My dad standing in a corn field
He too was so very tall
I have so many thoughts of then
Seems like I remember them all

I hope you too will take a step back
To memories you are so fond
As I do of many years ago
Of yesterday and beyond!
