A strange familiarity with the Divine grips my heart.
Pour into it a yearning so fierce
that the scattered shards of my soul
gather and merge into wholeness—
until a flood of ecstatic unity erupts,
shattering the illusion of duality
that dares to shadow me.
Fill my cup of vision
with every lightning bolt
that sears falsehood into nothingness.
Grant my eyes such brilliance
that they do not merely endure the lightning
but absorb its fire—
illuminating all in its wake.
Drunk on the wine of Your oneness,
let me whirl in ecstasy,
shatter my fragile self,
and dissolve into You.
O God!
Instill such madness in my eyes
that every wilderness becomes a verdant meadow,
every ruin, a royal palace.
Let every scorching bowl of fire
You pour upon my head
turn into a vessel of mercy.
How can fire burn fire?
I do not fear the sun's fierce heat—
its flames cannot turn me to ash.
I will not vanish into nothingness,
nor yearn for annihilation
in the suffering of love.
I bear Your divine grace—
why crave to be consumed,
to scatter as mere ashes in the wind?
I no longer ache with the pain of separation,
nor do my tears taste of sorrow—
they are sweet, the nectar of unity
