A Sunday Prayer 16 Poem by David Harris

A Sunday Prayer 16

Rating: 5.0

Dear God as I look out my window
after the hard morning rain
at the sunshine beginning to peek
through a sky of blue.
I want to thank you God
first for your son Jesus
who has shown us a better way,
but also a beautiful dawn each day.
Dear God I want to thank you
for all the good things in my life,
all my friends and family
of which I hold so dear.
Please could you forgive me
for my self-indulgent at times
when I only think of me?
When I ignore the needs of the world
and only think of mine. In addition,
for my grumbling selfishly
that the world is hard on me,
when I know full well
there are others worse of than me.
Dear God I would be more than grateful
if you could do these things for me,
and let me be a better person
that I really am.

Amen

You shine David, this is a fabulous prayer acknowledging the fact that we do spend much time thinking only of ourselves when others are suffering so much more. Keep praying David, the wonderful thing is we know God answers us in his time and all will be well in time. Melvina
