A Touch Of Your Hand - K. W. Poem by Oyekake Satty (O S) Joshua

A Touch Of Your Hand - K. W.

I saw you; you walked into the Sanctuary
Regally, with that gentle dignified stride
My heart raced with joyful expectation
I hoped for more than a simple hello
I wished you by me, right next to me.
And when you did, my heart fluttered!
I could not contain the excitement,
So nervous, I could not find my words.

Confused by the overflow of emotions,
Elated and stupefied by your presence,
I stood disarrayed, muddled and frozen.
Tongue-tied, I was only able to mumble
A greeting, a hello or something other.
But the touch of your hand alerted me
With strange and unfamiliar heartbeats.
I was undone as we held hands in prayer.

My heart echoed in a thousand melodies
Of sweet joyful harmonious symphony.
It rendered me both satisfied and ruined.
Satisfied - I was really holding your hand.
Ruined - I would soon let go of your hand.
But, I resigned that evening with delight,
The pleasure of the touch of your hand
Forever engraved into my existence.
