A Tree Poem by Robin Strand

A Tree

Chaos in the clouds
My interest
silence dawned my mind
near lost under dreaded majesty
discover the sun under them
sphere o'h sphere o'desolate sphere

lay down the game or conquer no man
See, and see fear
paved ground, tired dirt

light flickered strong
a bud rose from Earth
danced with breeze
And made through wind
time went on

bark sounded a tree
bored
grown stiff

thunder in the sky
rain rot the root
yet a tree stayed still

had forgotten
wondered
how to grow old
and fall

lest not forget
for a tree can not think
but a man
he is an immortal
prospect of her nature

all are bound, unified
Oh ongoing tale of chance
spinning cylinder

growths backward
human nature discovered
mistakes are recalled

connection
hive nature
yet one form as two
another, mirroring one's truth

life in motion
but don't let go
when half is lost

one mind left
a tree no taller grew
a tree understood

a human can act
only if a tree silent
looms untold truth

be strong
don't worry
the sweet sexy taste
Is of no importance
