Have you smelled
That hyacinth in springtime
Before it is wrapped
By a long glistening
Tapestry of frost?
Have you seen
The bud of a rose
In its most tender state
Before it is touched
By the blustery wind?
Have you tasted
That fresh sun - ripened
Garden tomatoes
Right off the vine?
Oh, so sweet,
So raw,
And so compelling!

Oh my! Probably one of my favorite poems that you have ever published in real time! So vibrant and vivid, full of wholesome and refreshing sights and smells! As the weather all around turns cold this is a gorgeous ray of Springtime sunlight! You have brightened my day so much!
This is a fantastic write.... thanks for sharing this poem..
As I also picked the last of the cold cucumbers off the withered vines I was compelled that winter is setting in fast!
A beautiful fall poem! As the weather sets in still tasting the sweet sensations of Spring and Summer!

I've been eating tomatoes right off the vine all summer. Just picked and ate the last of them tonight. Some of them survived the light frost.
