A Verdict Given To Aquit Guilt Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

A Verdict Given To Aquit Guilt

Cheers to temporarily hear.
Has its consequences,
Approaching near.

What is to win,
With deception to do it won.
Becomes too obvious to ignore.
When all of the truth,
Is produced and revealed.
Exposing the ones cheering,
A verdict to aquit guilt...
As accomplices to deception.

Accomplices.
Later heard begging on knees.
For anyone to believe...
Something they say,
Is connected to truth.
A truth they disputed to exist.

And...
If it is!
A truth,
They plead heard to hear.
Confessing it to address.
What on Earth will they find,
To use as proof...
That convinces of it as that?
And not an act?
Dramatized with tears.
While quoting of scriptures.
Misinterpreted.
With a Bible held.
High to hold in one hand.
Yet...
Noticed,
Is it clearly newly purchased!
Not to open but used as a prop.
