A Welcome Stranger Poem by Patricia Denise Newman

A Welcome Stranger

A welcome stranger wrapped in blue,
a bundle of most perfect joy,
our world was waiting just for you.

Gone forever this life hereto,
when you arrived, our baby boy,
a welcome stranger wrapped in blue.

We watched you as each day you grew,
playing with your favourite toy,
our world was waiting just for you.

We taught you everything we knew,
from toddler cute to young schoolboy,
a welcome stranger wrapped in blue.

Then came a sister, fresh and new,
a small companion to enjoy,
our world was waiting just for you.

So sad the day you said adieu,
your happiness we'd not destroy,
a welcome stranger wrapped in blue,
our world was waiting just for you.
