A Winter's Walk Poem by john (called jack) wren

A Winter's Walk

Rating: 5.0

Fingers, chilled to the bone
are plunged into pockets torn
searching inside for warmer parts
immobilized and forlorn.

Tears, blown by the biting wind
make ice rings on a cheek
as snowy eyelids gently close
a red nose starts to weep.

Toes jump up and down
like hopping kangaroos
attached to feet near to death
in a frozen pair of shoes.

Breath, that is crystal clear
hangs like a cloud near lips
following like an obedient dog
on one of its Winter trips.

A well crafted poem embellished with great imagery. A vivid depiction of a harsh winter.
