'Abandoned' Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

'Abandoned'

In the stormy afternoon,
The traveller was compelled to stop in front of the dilapidated and lonely mansion,
With the inscription 'ABANDONED'carved on it.
It seemed weird throughout,
As he peeped inside through a narrow opening of a broken window,
He saw it was completely dark and stuffy,
The weary traveller felt the tormented spirits were whispering to him,
"Please, come in and rescue us,
We are groaning in this prison in horrible pain and despair years after years."
Being terribly afraid of its strangeness, he ran and ran from there,
As he fled hard, he could still hear their frustrating and agonizing cry,
"He is gone, another soul of the living world is gone,
Nobody thinks of our helpless community,
Perhaps we have no hope now to be rescued from this abysmal condition,
We are justly 'ABANDONED'in this gloomy world."
