Adulteress - Poem by Brittney Heck

Like rain that falls upon my floor
are tears of one you once adored
like shadows stretched across my wall
like the night I heard her call
out your name into the dark
like awakened fear and heart
like shattered windows dreams alike
how darkness fell on me that night
like love and only love I sought
like never was there truth I got
from the girl I saw who was your whore
like from the girl who is no longer more.
