When the light fades above the growing grass
Into the still, of silence
After a heart has stopped in days long passed
Shall all life- return to darkness
Will a memory call us home
Or is the light forever gone
Darkness, takes an only thought
To where our souls belong
Colors, visit before dreams unfold
Making peace along the way
Hoping for a new tomorrow
For those who never pray
Within the shadows that no one holds
You can hear the cries they make
Words of Gods and life eternal
Remain buried in this place
Perhaps the light must reach an end
Despite the living words, once spoken
In life we lived by preaching darkness
In churches filled with hearts once broken
So why not Darkness be the way
When Light, was always blind
I think when Darkness brings us home
You must only open up your eyes
