After Woodstock

I sit in balcony
Look at sites of city,
See trees, plenty,
All silent and green.

Some are tall,
Some are round,
Some leaves are
Wide and large,
Some needles,
Very sharp…

Stagnant, pregnant
With calm, peace
They inhale little air.

But few branches,
To me, the nearest,
Seem to talk
Send message.

They take me to
Years back…

Recall days like today
When I was much younger
And fought the governments.

Then and now, copied the
Things that know took place
With Martin, Malcolm X…

Peace walkers were beaten
And police made comments
On, against the "Niggers…"

Governments are shameless
They brand and give names!

They divide the people
Into "Masters, " "Slaves! "
Their laws are against the
Poor and weak, defenceless
To help them use the rest!

They shout in speakers:
"Be free like a bird…"

What they mean, in secret:
"Only chirp, jumps in cage! "

"Well…F…them…"
Says branch: "Transfer
To people, to braves! "

Hear leaves, they murmur:
"Burn the doors and shatter
The windows, palaces…"

I stare and wonder
Just few branches?

"Act like the earthquake
As well as hurricane…"

Mesmerised I watch them
And love their resistance:
"Friends are peace, justice,
Nothing more, nothing less! "

Those with reins in their hands
Raise glass and share laughs:
"Now dead are beyond the…
No one talks about the…
Let the fool go to hell…
They can shout, demonstrate! "

In love with branches,
Listen to their lectures,
They advise to shout loud:
"Go away, fast please,
And take your belonging,
Let me do my own things
You need to "Sanitise! "
