Age Is A Number. Poem by Bailey Burris

Age Is A Number.

Like the sweet taste of sugar
On my speckled pink tongue
Your lips touch mine
And we know what's begun.

They say, this can’t be love,
You’re only just young.
Do years define feelings?
Does a number define love?

Sex is a religion.
Everyone’s joining.
As the peer pressure gets stronger,
The more children start yearning.

My question to you is, can this be real?
Or am I to young to comprehend the ideal?
Could this last a life time, or just a few months?
Am I to young to feel this in love?

i liked your poem. and i semi agree. i think with age comes maturity. and i know i'm pretty naive. so my only advice is to look at things for the time - never compare. never look back. and never makes things more than what they are. you write very well.
