Agitation Against The Selling And Consuming Of Liquor!
If you relax and lie aside in a corner of your house,
..The deeds you do and the achievements that follow
Shall also go to slumber! Hence, leave aside
..The rest and inactivity, Get up!
It is the one and only agitation, after realizing
..With the serious thinking, against the selling
And consuming of liquor will bring us the real
..And new life; Stop shedding of tears from your eyes!
This poem ‘Agitation against the selling and consuming of liquor! ' is a translation by me of a Tamil poem by my friend Poet Esekkial of Chennai.
இருவிகற்ப நேரிசை வெண்பா
சாய்ந்து படுத்துவிடின் சாதனைகள் தூங்கிவிடும்
ஓய்ந்து கிடப்ப(து) ஒழித்தெழு! - ஆய்ந்துணர்ந்த
போராட்டம் ஒன்றே புதுவாழ்க்கை கொண்டுதரும்!
நீரோட்டம் கண்ணில் நிறுத்து! - எசேக்கியல்
'... against the selling And consuming of liquor will bring us the real ..And new life; Stop pouring of tears from your eyes! ' yes a serious subject, but the abolition and prohibition of alcohol did more damage than it solved, moderation is difficult for some, alcohol is not however high on my budget :)

A thought provoking and meaningful poem stressing on ban on liquor that has devastating effect on family and social life of the poor people who take to manual work and in the process become addict drunkards. This happens mainly because of inability of uneducated or semi educated people to draw lines up to which liquor should be consumed. Thanks for sharing.10 points.
