Aids



The villagers had never seen this before
The son of their chief had come back
After ten years in the city
But unlike others who came back rich and fat
He came back with
His skin tightly embracing his bones

The medicine men tried all they could
But whatever had eaten the chief's son's flesh
Was beyond them
He passed on

When the village elder's daughter
Came back from the city
They had seen it before
Like the chief's son
All skin and bones
Her fate like his
