Algorithm And Bloom Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Algorithm And Bloom

My phone buzzes, a sunrise in my hand,
Your name, a ping, I finally understand.
We met online, a pixelated start,
But hearts, it seems, are coded works of art.

Remember that late-night voice, soft and low?
You spoke of rain and how the fireflies glow.
I felt a warmth, a circuit in my soul,
Like code rewriting, making me feel whole.

We've walked through cities, headphones sharing tunes,
Found rhyme riding trains with you neath the moon.
You see the beauty in the mundane and gray,
The way lights dance on a cafe's stray ray.

No proud pronouncements, no grand sweeping scene,
Just quiet moments where your eyes have been
Reflecting back the man I aim to be,
A lasting love unfolding, you and me.

The world is a chaos, a frantic hum,
But in your presence, all the static's numb.
You're the calm playlist, the unfiltered view,
My favorite pop-up is always you.
