All Alone Poem by soren Barrett

All Alone

I've lived in a shadow that lifted me from darkness
Placed under the withering heat of Helios chariot in a barren land
Striped and blasted by the wind driven sands of time
My broken heart has healed me.
Sticks broken and redoubled grow stronger with each break
A scar is tougher that the skin it replaced
My concrete legs, still wet, will not bear my burden
Of empty casks from abandoned harvests
Under Anubis' falling curtain
