All Nations Need Their Delusions Poem by Raymond Farrell

All Nations Need Their Delusions

Rating: 5.0

All nations need their delusions
None more so than the British
Yearly they gather in hordes
For the Night of the Proms
An exercise in mass delusional behavior
Where they sing Rule Brittania
Loudly and very proudly
Singing Britons never ever shall be slaves
All failing to acknowledge
The English upper classes
First exploited their lower classes
Virtually enslaving the poor people
And then proceeded to do the same
Across the length and breadth of the Empire
I suspect that many of those gathered
Fail to realize the British Empire
Was not some British run charity.

Historic lies abound, This poem truly gives them their sound. Great writing, telling it, like it happened and is. Poets have the courage of doing this. Wonderful piece!
