Almighty Voice Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Almighty Voice

Almighty voice

Lost I am among names
The fact, myth, surreal.

Love the past system of
We, sitting, circle, round
The elders in middle…

All ears and eager
We focused and listened.

"Long ago, in old days…"

We waited for heroes
To show face, appear.

Every tale was lesson,
Treasures of wisdom.

Still, I, in this age
Love the same to happen.

Heroes like Siavash
Ollantay, Abraham
To Jesus and-or Che,
Heroically are same.

Now, reading for finding,
Ran across "Almighty."

This Cree was proud,
Escaped jail to wind up
In jungles, with bride
Of whom is left Edgar…

"Surrender? Me? Never, "
Shouted youth, the rebel:
"Let mother know her son
Will fight as do soldiers."

He scared Dominion
That killed him with cannon.
