A.L.O.N.E Poem by Matthew Holloway

A.L.O.N.E

Alone in all places
in every room and crowd
in the words of every faith
alone in spirit and heart
in the stillness of the night
in the company of known associates
alone in every aspect
such loneliness is numbing
eating away at any joy
leaving a smile forgotten
alone and feeling imprisoned
as though a life in solitary
is a sentence set and served
alone in all places
a literary sentence
