Alone Poem by John Madger

Alone

What should I do?
Where should I go?
Where am I?

I look and look, and fail to see, fail to hear,
When I speak, no one answers, no one hears,
Do they see me? Can they hear me?
What should I do?

Where ever I walk, I walk alone,
When ever I speak, I speak to myself,
I seek and seek, and fail to find,
Without destination, without origin,
Where should I go?

Have I arrived, have I departed?
What is this place, can it even be real?
I am alone, though surrounded by souls,
Trapped in a box, yet free to roam, at a point of nothing,
Where am I?
