Alone I Drink A Hot Mega Coffee Poem by Gert Strydom

Alone I Drink A Hot Mega Coffee

Alone I drink a hot Mega coffee
so fast that my throat catches fire
since I have to get to the internet café
in time to get a place

and maybe there’s an email from you
but there is nothing
as if you have disappeared
between the floor planks

and nothing can stop the longing,
not even the animals that are happy
when I get back to home.
