Alone With My Loneliness Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Alone With My Loneliness

Who could it be? No one's been here ere,
A burst of breeze oft bestirs the door.

Or may be, a letter to deliver
A postman has come to the neighbour.

Anyone but a visitor,
O eager heart, vain is your flutter.

Flicker not, false proves frustrating hope,
One, lost in life is lost for ever.

No one's come here ever before,
Take heart my soul, forget old lore.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
He has been alone with his soul ever since he lost his love. But heart still flutters with hope. A little sound at the door and his mind goes on a wild trip. Sure, she must have come; I knew my love will force her one day to come. Alas, hope may be eternal, but truth prevails still.
