Always Care - Poem by Gordon Jerome

There’s a simple rule I try to follow
But for most I know it’s hard to swallow
Forgive the one that’s broke your heart
And wish them well as from you they part
Care not who’s at fault or who’s to blame
Curse not their new feelings or their name
Think of the good times shared together
The sunny days before the foul weather
Remember them with the love you knew
And pray that their dreams all come true
For happy thoughts are the best to share
And for one you loved you should always care.
“closing thought”
It’s all too easy to point the finger of blame
But judgment of another only shows your shame
