Amargura, Bitterness (Bilingual Poem) Poem by Sandra Feldman

Amargura, Bitterness (Bilingual Poem)

Amargura

En el verano de mis canciones,
Nada llego' a dar flor,
Los poetas viven de ilusiones,
Como buenos cobardes que son!

Bitterness

In the summer of my songs
Nothing ever flowered,
Poets live from illusions,
As do, most good cowards.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The word coward is not used in any derogatory or disrespectful way.
I just wanted to say that many times poets hide behind illusions because they can't face the pain or the truth about how we behave, who we are, or just reality in general.

Deluded by illusions Poets are just like the words they write. A fantastic poem, dear Sandra. My poem Lifeboat was inspired by Not Real.
