From south of the border
So many come -
Families crossing the Rio Grande
With hopes and dreams of a better life.
Many arrested and detained
Families suddenly torn apart.
Children taken from their parents
To whom they cling.
Tears and cries
Of no avail.
Welcome to America,
Land of hurt and pain.
Separating children from their families is the worst thing we could have done! How traumatic that must be for parents and children alike! Whose bright idea was that, anyway? Great poem, Hank!
0705am 21 June 2018. On Wednesday,20 June, President Trump signed an executive order allowing families to stay together during the review process. Thank you President Trump! ! !
suggest you also review my poem titled: State of the Union. The poem was written a few years ago, but, applies to this day.

It is not good to separate children from parents-obviously. Are you referring specifically to Trump building a wall across the US-Mexico border?
A fair enough comment.
Michael, No, I was not referring to the Wall, But, something must be done. They come with out stretched hands wanting a better life for themselves and family, but, what they receive is Death.
