Ruler Supreme
Beloved by all
King Bhumibol Adulyadej
From the mountains of Chiang Mai
And the plains of Udon Thani
From Ubon Ratchathani in the East
And Nakhon Sawan to the West
South through Khon Kaen
And Nakhon Ratchasima
Past Bangkok, Capital City
Home to King Adulyadej and his Queen Sirikit
South past the sands of Phuket
And beyond the city of Hat Yai
Sixty six million subjects
Revere your name
Your goodness and kindness
Have brought you fame
Long live King Bhumibol
Long may he reign
Thanks for this wonderful poem through which I could understand a little bit of Thailand's geography, its people and its king whom they love so dearly. I wish these lovely people and the king sunshine and good luck.
A beautiful tribute and wonderful poem! Thank you for sharing this. My daughter lived in Thailand for a couple of years. I recognize some of the place names. She loved the country and the peopole.
Indeed, so sad that the King passed away. He is so goodlooking and clever in mind. Recently I went there to see my youngest son and his family (wife and only one toddlerson) working as medical specialists for the refugees at the border of Thailand, near the border with Myanmar.I had been there for 2 weeks and I have seen the beauty of Thailand. This poem is most gorgeous and I love to know the names of the borders.Thailand is beautiful green.10
Sylvia, Yes, Thailand is wonderful. My Thai wife and I have been married now for 43 years. Good years. I am receiving Cancer Treatment now, but, getting better day to day. We plan to visit Thailand for 30 days before the end of the year.. My wife's family lives close to Nakhon Sawan.
He doesn't look 88 in the picture. It must have been taken when he was younger. Anyway, a very nice poem.
I thought I had left a comment on this poem before, but I don't see it. Anyway, I was sorry to see that he had finally passed away. The world's longest reigning monarch is now somebody else. I wonder who?
A fair and convincing portrait of King Bhumibol, who obviously has his people's welfare at heart. 'Long may he reign'. M. walker.

I would like to translate this poem
Today,13 October 2016, Thailand's Beloved King, King Bhumibol Adulyadej passed away at 88 years of age. He was the World's longest reigning monarch. The Thai Nation and the World mourn. He was loved by ALL.
When we were there (Last July 2019) few portraits of the present King, but still so many portraits of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej in the restaurants and coffee shops and in the personal houses. Sad too read this.
