American Family Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

American Family

Once, I gave you my love
So much like a song
Where to begin

When I met you my mind flew away
A girl like no other
My feelings in flames

Then came the rain
Deeper my love
For you none the same

You crushed my own heart
Destroyed my good name
Forever we part

Then I met mom
Your mother so sweet
A comforting charm

Now happy I am
Together in love
Mom gave me a son

You, now a sibling, stepdaughter
Once my dear love
Who parted our way

A brother so young
A father in love
With a woman so beautiful
