AN ENDURING LESSON!
The mountains raised their lofty heads,
Surrounded by clouds of haloed clouds!
The winding road below goes past ……
A sleeping Emperor’s dusty tomb!
The surrounding wasted garden all around, -
Lie in the midst of autumn’s reed!
Fragrant incense smoke no longer rise above
the Dragon throne;
Nor palm-shaped fans stir-up winds of royalty!
All seekers of wealth, fame and majesty, -
Stop and pause a while without pretence, -
To learn Nature’s enduring lessons!
