A poem does not begin turbulent
nor harsh, not hateful, nor horrible.
It does not start with a bang.
No, none of these are for a poem's beginning
for a poem begins with a story.
Then, the poem begins to intensify.
Something terrible is being conveyed.
The speaker's voice gets louder
their breath shortens
there is a fire in their eyes
as they tell you of this event!
And then, then the moment passes.
The trees have stilled,
the fire has died,
the screaming has ceased.
For a poem ends as it begins.
This is a good beginning, Jonathan. Waiting for your next. All the best.
